temQtyPrice
Intel Core i5-4670 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail1£134.99
Gigabyte Z87-D3HP Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard

Well over ten years old and running a gtx560ti.

I don't game a lot these days but still use the pc for browsing , downloading ect but may get back to gaming one day.

Well out the loop with all the components now so any help would be good.
I definitely need and upgrade and I don't think I have any parts I can re use or even sell?

Your pc is fine for browsing the web and downloading and getting back into gaming in the future is a bit open ended as GPU prices vary dramatically ?

Do you have an SSD?

Nothing wrong with an update though if that's what you desire so what's your budget and we will try to get you the best parts for your money ?

Will this be a self build ?

Yes true about the gaming , probably more wishful thinking.

Yes I have a SSD .

Budget id be looking at £500 but I'm guessing this could be higher with a gaming graphics card.

Yes self build too

Thanks

That is a perfect build if you want to spend £635. If you are only going to be going light gaming or are on the fence, you can swop the CPU for a 5700G saving £160 in the process.

OR

swop CPU for a Ryzen 5500 saving £50 bringing you just shy of £590. I am just uncertain if the 5500 comes with a Stealth cooler or not. If not, you can get by with almost anything in the £15-£30 range

If you just wanted to upgrade for gaming, you could just plonk a newer GPU in and it would be a huge improvement, but the 4670 CPU is ultimately going to hold you back, especially on more recent titles that are more CPU-intensive. And it's not a k model so not overclockable past its turbo limit.

Both builds listed above are great and the Windows etc will feel much snappier with the leap in CPU and having a PCI-E SSD.
