First off - I think it's okay to post this here.. if not - sorry.
I have a Motorola XC68040RC40M (M68040) that requires urgent cooling - it live s on an Apollo 1240 accelerator that resides in an old and trusty Amiga 1200 (retro sites have already been asked).
Chip dimensions are roughly 46x46mm. The issue I have is the clearance above the chip isn't too great - it starts at about 8mm and increases gradually hitting 15mm at 25mm into the chip and around 20mm at the outer most edge.
I know there is no ready made or simple solution for this - but you obsessed cooler type people out reading this might perhaps know of some very low profile heatsinks and fans (I've not had much luck in finding anything that I can adapt to this problem).
Helpful suggestion would be appreciated.
