What's happening with Activesync? Every other MS app has feature-bloat, this one seems to have less features with each version! I noticed that in versions earlier than 4.1 you used to have to option of manually resolving conflicting items between your phone and PC, whereas in 4.1 it's jus "replace item on desktop" or "replace item on mobile device"! No option to let you resolve them manually or to pick the most recent one like there were in earlier versions.

So I downloaded 4.5 hoping the newest version might give you a bit more control over this sort of thing, to find that not only does it not have any more options, but it's about 3 times slower to boot!

:/

ActiveSync is very poor.
I thought one of the options when you have a conflict was to "skip"?

What hacks me off is the way it keeps starting up on my logon account, when it's only my wife that uses the PDA.

I've found a little freeware program called ActiveSyncToggle - one click and it disables/enables ActiveSync, then shuts itself down.

But there's no real replacement for Async is there? Yahoo's synchroniser is capable of syncing with most mobiles without using async, and it's got the extra synchronisation options I was talking about, but it's a bit awkward since you can't sync your mobile and PC directly: it only does mobile<-->yahoo and PC<-->yahoo, so there's an extra step involved.

Active sync sucks bigtime.

Is the mobile device centre in Vista any better? I had a bit of a play with it in RC2, but haven't tried the final version yet...
