And I thought T-Mobile wireless broadband was slow at home.

3g T-Mobile wireless broadband is criminally slow. I'm on a 24 month contract with them and I'm suppose to get a 4mb unlimited download for fifteen pounds a month. At home I'm lucky if I get 56k worth of a connection but now I'm on holiday in North Wales it can take up to about five minutes to change a page.

Just a warning to you guy so you don't make the same mistake I made. If only there was some way I could boost my signal for my Huawei mobile connect stick.

We took a contract out for 10 of those last year, for our sales guys out on the road. We won't be renewing, i think it worked out at the time £22 a month rental for each one, plus usage/tariff charges, and we got no end of complaints about how slow they were.

The only decent thing we liked about the sticks, was that there's no software to install as such, you just plug it in, and it loads up by itself.

They're hardly using them now, they make do with their xda's, we'll be looking for a more reliable alternative very soon - any suggestions?

assuming the tmobile phones use the same network as the dongles i havent had any problems with my phone, it 3g areas its around 45k and in 2g its 5-6k fine for browsing but not much good for download, i think all of the "mobile broadband" solutions suffer from the same over hyped blurb and poor networks.

So yours to is slower than a 56k dailup modem. Your suppose to get 2 to 4mb with such a connection you should be able to download a short video in a minute. I can't download anything.

A quick test just now:

i get the speeds i'm ment to get on my tarrif ie 384kbit in a 3g area, and the lower speed in 2g, i would take it up with Tmobile if your not getting the speeds your paying for but they are very area dependent.

I believe vodafone do one now thats got a speed of 7.2mbps, i guess you'd have to been damn lucky to get that though!
£20 per month 3mb per month limit 30day contract, looks interesting.
