Hey all,

Just received my spanking new 17" Macbook Pro, and I have to say I am over the moon :D

It's not my first Mac by a long shot, but it was my first Laptop So I was very eager to finally take delivery today. Took 3 days faster than they quoted, so that was nice.. and the box arrived in A1-condition (probably the best condition I have ever seen a box that took the best part of a week to come)

Anyway, I digress.. It was for Christmas so I haven't actually got pictures of it but I did get chance to crack the box open to check it was working ;)

Must say the build quality is sooooooo nice! I didn't expect it to be as thin as it was, which btw is VERY slim. It really does look gorgeous when it's powered up thanks to the glowing "apple" logo, and the screen looks HUUUUGE!

For a widescreen laptop it really looks the business. Colour is great, and the brightness (only used it on batteries so far) was excellent. As an added bonus, I bought a nice neoprene case for taking it back and forth to work, and it came with a free printer.

The spec I finally got was the standard 17" spec..

17" Display
2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB RAM
160GB Hard Drive (5400rpm)
256MB VRAM

Just wish I could post pictures now.. but I guess that will come in time :cool:
 
A 17" laptop is ideal for sticking in a neoprene case and into the back of the car for taking to and from work.

Otherwise I think 15" is the sweet spot.

12" is the best for filthy public transport using students such as myself :p

true. can't wait to get rid of my PB 15" to get a macbook 13".
that extra 1/2 kilo constantly on my shoulders is killing me.

It's not constantly.. about once or twice a week tops. I bought it as a replacement for my PC until I get my Mac Pro in January

Besides.. you guys are wimps if you can't handle the 5KG :confused: :p
