first look under the skirt of the RoG Ares III

Edit : Link Fixed xD,sorry about that, yea am a newbie at this.
still this is the kind of cards the extra margins doesn't really feel like a scam, limited edition to 500 units worldwide, single pci slot, only bad thing i see in it is the absence of mini displayports, but who cares :D

Does look pretty swish. Wish manufacturers would start doing more like this for AMD like the EVGA hydrocopper.

Hom Nom Nom Om nom

It is a good looking card for sure. Why is the lighting not on the top (backplate) on these though? Sure it might add a little bulk but that's the part you see.

I think Gibbo already said he won't be getting any in because they are going to be too rich!

The Asus cut out in the back plate is very tacky as this is going to be a real dust trap.

The 4gb of VRAM per core is also a major flaw as I can see people wanting to use two of these cards for 4K.

Having said that, waterblock + three 8 pin power connectors I like.

Finally a 295X2 done right.

Possibly could have done with 4 x 8 pin power connectors as a dual card can not draw as much power through the PCI-E slot as two single cards can.:D

I can't help but think they're too late. How well will these sell now that the reference 295X2 has had a huge price drop?

There's only going to be 500 and they will be very expensive.

So I guess the main market will be collectors?

I don't really get it either

Specifically for the eejit with too much money that wants something "limited edition". :p There's bound to be somewhat more than 500 of them made for any rma issues anyway.

I don't really get it too. Maybe it's just e-peen.

Collectors? I don't think enough people know of it's existence for it to be a collectable. Sure, if someone knows what it then its great, but to the non-computer guy it's just another lighty up thing? Not like a collectable car where anyone can appreciate a curvy rear end. Seems like a waste of money when you can get a reference for a whole lot less.
