Andoid SMS Memory Full error

Hi, I'm a Windows Phone fanboy and know nothing about Android and was looking for some help.

Been handed a Samsung Galaxy y that rejects all incoming texts with the error below. I guess it's storing them on the SIM card? There's nothing in the inbox/drafts/sent items.

Anyone anyone know how to fix the kids phone?

Deleted FB and restarted and it's receiving again, so you're correct it's a space issue on the phone and not the SIM.

Ooooh that "phone/messaging storage" sounds like it's bang on the money, back in a bit.
