Android 2.2 (Froyo)

Their website seem to lack a decent news section and an official forum :(

Would be great if they implemented both. Im sure the forum would be widely used.

Now we just need to wait for a Cyanogenized version of Froyo!

I can wait...!

Do we? I won't. It wipes the floor with a stock 2.1, which puts it on or above the performance of cyan 2.1. Obviously cyan will make it faster still, but I'm rolling back to stock to get this OTA :)

Will the stock 2.2 permit you to reroot your phone? Because if it doesn't then this will be a one way trip for you.

You can't re-lock the bootloader at all on the Nexus, not sure about the root access, I'd assume, being for the Nexus then yes it will allow root access. I'm back on the stock ROM right now waiting anyway :p

And the URL has been figured out

To update you must be using the Nexus One!

1) Download here
2) Flash back to stock, including stock recovery
3) Put file on SD card and name it update.zip
4) Power off
5) Press power and trackball at the same time, an Android with an ! next to it will appear
6) Press vol up and power together
7) Select flash update.zip
8) Enjoy

I have done this and am now enjoying Froyo

You bet me too it, I was flashing just as I got this email :( Still, frozen yoghurt on such a warm day :D :D :D :D

First finding: Splash screen still has the lock icon on it, indicating my bootloader is still unlocked, which is good news :)

Will report back when I've had more of a play
