Sack trying to go back to EPE27, move with the times man :p Paul and Cyan have both posted rooted ROM's that'll run off custom recovery images

You may be better off trying it that way, plus you don't loose root either :) Check XDA for the links

Finally on Froyo! lol :>

Anyone tried out FP10 yet? Just been on iPlayer website and a little choppy?

Phone seems way faster imo when navigating around the OS for sure!

I have just installed Froyo and it is brilliant. I love the performance increase on the browser, tether/hotspot function and for me, I like having multiple keyboards (i.e. I have English and German).

However, I'm looking to add the Swedish language keyboard. Is there anyway just to add the Swedish language keyboard onto the existing stock Android keyboard (without installing new software).

Additionally, all I need from Android is to be able to specify a proxy server and I'll be happy!

I need to update my regular Froyo to his version so I can have all my root apps back..... I miss them :(

Well what phone then? I really like the G2 from reviews etc its very good? Heres my other options:
Samsung Galaxy Portal (i5700)
LG InTouch Max (GW620)
HTC Touch 2
T-Mobile Pulse

Find the extra cash for a Desire (£300-350 on the bay), you won't regret it :)

BTW I'm now running a rooted 2.2 - so I get all my lovely root apps back :D

All root apps that I use work flawlessly on 2.2 too (Titanium Backup, Nexus Torch, SetCPU, ShootMe etc)

In that case Paul from Modaco rates the Pulse as quite hack-tastic, but then again the Hero is good in the that respect too because its been out forever (Hacking those phones will make the lack of grunt less noticeable :) ) Those would be my two choices. But you will get hooked, and you will be looking for an upgrade in 6-12 months :)

Is it an 18 month contract? Probably should be, 2 years is way too long IMO
 
Ok well I won't be hacking as I don't have a clue how to lol, it's 24 month :/ but I doubt i will be upgrading anytime soon and if there is something I want I can just sell mine and move up.
Also what do you mean you will not notice the lack of grunt as much?

Does Froyo finally support proper bluetooth profiles especially - rsap so those darn phones can be paired with most in-car systems or are they still stubborn and ignoring Europe?
 
How many Bluetooth things can be paired at a time? Eg can I stream spotify to my Bluetooth car radio whilst sat navin and connected to a Bluetooth headset ?
