I have an Oukitel K6000 Pro running Android 6.0

Using the File Manager I don't get thumbnails for images and videos, just icons. This means I need to go to the Gallery to sort through images, but using Gallery doesn't give you the flexibility to cut and paste like you get in File Manager.

Is there a way of displaying thumbnails? I'm sure File Manager on previous versions of Android showed thumbnails but I can't find a way to enable it.

There's no stock file manager app for Android, so whatever you have been using, is supplied from the manufacturer themselves.

What was your previous phone? You could try find a copy of the APK and install it on your current phone. Alternatively use one from the Play store.

+1 to Solid Explorer, it's paid but very well worth your money.

Are you using the default Marshmallow File Explorer or another one? I have a Samsung phone and no matter what view option I choose in 'Explore' I can see a thumbnail for images and videos. Bear in mind though that Samsung often do 'stock' android features differently.
