hey all. hoping that someone might be able to point me in the right direction. i have a samsung galaxy s2 and use google maps navigation for when i'm driving to new/unfamiliar places. fair play... for something that's free on the phone it does the job excellently!

i would like to suggest an improvement though... at current the phone sits on the dashboard on one of these non-slip pads as i don't have an in-car holder for it. so to view the map its at a pretty acute angle of viewing... still readable though and i usually listen to the voice commands.

so to get a better view of it i either have to move the phone or move my self to get a quick, better look. i have noticed tho that during the evening the image from the screen is being reflected but the windscreen and is very clear to see.... so got me thinking..... why not use it as a heads up display?

this would be a safe suggestion i think as it would only take us a small section on the screen (less obstructing than if i were to have a holder stuck on it) and i could see it without having to move myself or the phones position.

the only problem is that the image i see is backwards (blasted mirroring effect!) so what i'm looking for is an app that can flip the screens display around so when i view it, it will be in the correct orientation. I've had a quick look on the market and it's all 3rd party gps software with the flipped image..... i want to use it with google navigation so these are no good to me. I think they should add it as a function to the app personally :) just have a small icon on the screen that flips the image.... simples! or do it through the power button menu.

tl:tr find me an (anbdroid) app that flips/mirrors the phones screen

that's far toooo sensible!!!! :p

Haha my old phone used to fit perfectly in my steering wheel, although the Sat Nav was a bit poo, it was perfect! I was trying for weeks to find a place my SGSII could just 'sit' without it, buckled on Monday & purchased a holder that clips onto the vent.

i like the idea! think it's pretty neat way to display the screen. can you not simply have the phone rotate upside down and then lock it into place? can't think how the mirror effect woudl work but i know the phone can be rotated to any 4 angles

well it needs to be upside down for it to be the right way up... but the image will still be left-right swapped due to mirroring :\
