Android Application publishing advice

I'm near completion of my first application.

Its a tool that I wanted myself and found nobody had released one that did what I needed.

Anyone published an application before on the Play store? I could offer a free version with limited features but I think at first I'll see how the paid only one does.

Things to do:

Code obfuscation
Implement Androids licensing
Logos, descriptions

Any other tips?

Never done the Play store but I've got 12 apps published, just give it a go, enter your bank details and sit back and watch literally pounds a month roll in!

iOS store yourself?

How is IOS with background services now? For example something running every 15 minutes or so?

My heads overflowing with Android, I know C# is similar to JAVA but one language is enough at the moment
