android calculator cant calculate...

I noticed this yesterday trying to get some quick calculations...

Android: 32600/3=6
Actual: 32600/3=10866.66

Android: 32600/1924=4
Actual: 32600/1924=16.94

Anyone any idea what's going on? Surely in this day and age basic calculations is something a smartphone should be able to handle easily.

Also I see no settings options for the calculator app so assume it's default.

Use another calculator app such as Real Calc - is what I do.
 
It's a HTC One m8, latest stock build (Android 6?).

Cheers I'll grab real calc, was just curious as to how they could screw up something as simple as a calculator :p
 
Perhaps HTC have been using their own calculator all this time - may explain why financially they are in such trouble :D

:eek: I didn't expect to see this; I honestly thought I was going mad the other day!

I had this myself on my HTC M8 Sense edition the other week. Can't remember now which calculator I was using but I did have to download another.

Erm think it's only you, or your phone.

Calculates fine here on S7E.
 
Thats weird, I did have this problem, but I can't replicate it with the calculations in the OP. I also can't remember what calculation I was doing originally so can't test that. It definitely happened though. Weird.

I think it must be an issue with the M8 though as we are the only two to have seen this OP. Have you tried restarting the phone?

Looked again this morning, appears it's stuck in rad or deg (can pick either just not neither!). Could this be something to do with it?

Also flipping from portrait to landscape gives me a completely different set of wrong results :p

E: moved back to the default theme and it works perfectly again, strange :confused:
