Hi Guys,

As the title suggests? My question is...

Is there a way I can record video on my phone, but use an external microphone, either using the OTG support or plugging one in directly.
This might be simple to do but I can fathom it

Thanks Guys

Depends, which phone do you have and what sort of microphone do you plan to use?

Android can do it but it will depend more on the hardware.

I have a HTC One Mini (m4) or a Sony Xperia M2, and I dont mind what kind of microphone aslong as it is better than the built in, as recorded voice always sounds awful.

If I can't do it i've already resigned myself to buying a cheap(ish) video camera

I can't think of a reason it wouldn't be possible as Car Kits already do this. You would need a bluetooth microphone and maybe someone has done a bluetooth input. But whether it is possible or not you would need to search around (amazon and google). But that is where I would be looking at

BBC click did a show the other week (was on last Sunday morning) that was recorded on mobile devices and they all used external microphones, cannot remember brands but it looked and sounded very good.
