Android: mark text message as unread

I have a HTC One (M7) with an unmodified version of Android that came preinstalled.

When I recieve a text message, after I have read it how do I mark the message as unread?

I can't believe there isn't a simple way of doing this. My ancient BB Bold 9000 could do this.

In the OP you can clearly see I wrote text message.

It's sucks major lemon if this isn't supported natively. I remember being able to do it on my Nokia 3210.
