The satellite company I have dropped some channels I like, might drop more, so I was looking at Roku, it can read a SD card so I was happy to beable to install apps. & find out it uses Roku OS. I want one I can install apps. on & have many to choose from... I want a tiny one with HDMI...

I assumed you mean Android mini PC TV stick.
I would suggest CX919 cost around £30 running Android 4.2.2 with 2GB RAM, microSD slot and 8GB flash storage.
Alternative you could look at £118 Meego Pad Mini PC TV stick with BayTrail Atom quad core CPU, 2GB RAM, microSD, micro USB, standard USB, and 16GB flash storage. Capable to run dual OS either Windows 8.1, Linux and Android, you can install Android 5.0 Lollipop on it.
32GB Meego stick model not available yet.

I use a google chromecast with my tablet, phone and laptop also pc anything that is on on these devices can play onto my tv or my case any display that has hdmi input, I play xbmc from my note 4 to my tv wireless also netflix, youtube and the mobile screen etc
So if you have any off them devices just buy a chromecast.
