I'm a bit anal about music, and, whilst my car stereo is a far cry from my awesome diamond audio and pioneer pure signal days, its not all bad.

I had the use of a Nokia 825 w8 phone of which, the one redeeming feature was its audio capability. Nokia have always had this sewn up imo and android players especially the default are pretty lame. The Nokia held good non boomy bass and excellent highs, it was very focal. The one x is crap in comparison compounded worse with beats by dre if I use it. I didn't need to adjust any eq on the Nokia.

My question then, what is the best android player either free or paid for, although a trial would be nice....

Poweramp, can't get any better then that. Mix that with the ICS/JB theme and you have the best looking/sounding player there is for Android.

Whether it will help you though is the question, since it will still use the same sound chip. Looking on Google it seems the Tegra 3's sound quality is actually pretty poor... I guess this is where it's letting you down.

Yeah, I thought you were all going to say poweramp. Might have to stick with the Nano for the car.

I've used PowerAmp before. It was free for a while from certain places. Is this still the same?

Thanks

Poweramp is fantastic - even manages to squeeze even better sound out of the HO than stock player. Give the trial a whirl, but well worth purchasing IMHO.

Look how awesome PowerAmp's interface is, I wish there was a PC version just so I could manage my music the same way
