Hi ALl

I;ve just got hold of my first android phone, a Desire Z, and am struggling to get it working.

I tried to get o2 to send me the settings for internet, messaging etc but all I got was a message saying to contact o2 for help, which I've tried to do but cos they don't do this phone they can't help (great)

Can anyone hlep me get up and running with internet, picture messaging etc etc?

Hmm, just tried those settings but internet is still not working?

I've googled o2 apn settings and found several different usernames, if I try them al and find one that works, will it be any kind of problem using it? ie can i accidentally connect to the wrong thing?

Another question, if I'm connect to my wifi network, which I seem to be, should the internet connect through that?

Cos at the moment that's not working either.

Tried all the APN settings I've found and nothing is working...

any one able to offer any help?

That's what I thought should happen but despite being connected to my home wifi connection it's not working.

Is there anything i need to have done with my router or anything to allow it work? My W705 just worked fine once I'd entered my passcode, which I have done and it's seems to be connected but it's not working.

Just tried those settings but still it's not working. Internet etc still not working thru wifi either.

At one point, my location and weather came up but it's not working now, really rather disappointed by my android experience so far!

Ah, just restarted router and now wifi is working.

Still don't know what to do about my O2 internet settings, would be a bit crap having this phone and only being able to do anything good at home...lol

Turns out my router was the culprit. Restarted it and all was fine. However, after a while it stopped working again and i needed to restart the router again.

I tried setting the router to give the phone the same ip address all the time and now it fails to connect at all, just sticks on obtaining ip address for a while then disconnects.

I tried calling O2 last night but because they don't stock the Desire Z, the chap siad he couldn't send setting to my phone.

He emailed me some which I didn't think were working but in actual fact I think the problem was that my phone was connected to my wireless at home but for some reason not able to connect to the internet through it but as it was connected by wireless the phone wasn't even trying to connect through mobile internet.

The mobile internet seems to working fine now, the problem now is finding why my phone connects to my wireless network but can't see the internet. A restart of my router sorted it out for a short time but then it stopped working again.

Now my phone is failing to connect to my wireless too, gets to "obtaining IP address from Speedtouchv585 (my router) and then after a while disconnects???
