Hey,

My sisters Samsung Galaxy has finally packed up and she's got a few months left to run on her contract. She wants to buy a sim free / pay as you go handset so that she can use her sim and change to sim only when the contract expires.

Her budget is £300 though if she can get a significantly better handset for not a lot more I'll throw a bit in :) It needs to be android as she loves it :)

Thanks guys

Nexus 4 from the Play store? £239 for 8gb and £279 for 16gb. However, do they have big stock problems... No idea when the next batch will be coming.

If google weren't so god awful at being a retailer this would be a done deal but alas as you say - no stock!

Well since the nexus 4 is out of the question :p

- one S
- RAZR I
- Xperia T

And the galaxy nexus is also worth looking at (if she doesn't mind a worse camera)

You can get the one S that cheap now? Would you honestly recommend it nexus? :)

She has my trusty htc desire which I'm dropping down as a temp phone when she gets back from Penzance which has mild wild on it but wants a new phone!

Yup :)

Now whether those prices are for the S4 or S3 version is up to you to find out :p

No reason not to recommend it IMHO (especially given the price tag), aside from the screen (which really is very good on the whole, best calibration settings for a SAMOLED screen, just lacks the sharpness of the GS 3 etc.) and storage, it is easily still up there with the nexus 4, GS 3, X etc. on par in some areas and better in other areas. And the other thing that lets it down is the support/updates (it will get jellybean, but I can't see it happening till at least January), but I doubt your sister would care about this? :p

If not a Nexus 4 then a second hand Galaxy S3, imo.

Edit; or the S3 new even, just seen somewhere selling it for £287, never heard of the website though
