This is probably something ridiculously simple that I'm missing so go easy on me but I cannot fathom how apps use the photos on my phone.

Post a pic to Facebook that I took say a month ago. When scrolling to find the photo they don't seem to be in any logical order whatsoever and it often brings up pics from years ago before ones taken a month ago.
It's not just a Facebook thing, happens everywhere (except in the native pictures app)
Am I missing something daft?
