I have enabled encryption on the device but I was wondering about doing it on the SD Card. At the moment I sync data from my SD Card (photos/music etc) to my PC.

If I enable encryption on the SD Card, will this then replace the PC data with the encrypted version and make it inaccessible on the PC or will it still be unencrypted and accessible on the PC the next time it syncs?

I've only just recently dabbled with encryption due to selling a phone but my understanding is that as long as you use your PIN to unlock the phone then it should be readable when you plug it into a PC.

I'm sure others can give you a more technical opinion though!

Just remember if you swap phones or phone breaks you wont be able to read the sd card . Only the phone that encrypted it can

As I found out

Thats not a big issue really. My SD Card is synced with my PC so if I have to reformat it then I can move it all back... I was just wondering if, when the newly encrypted SD card syncs with my PC, will it copy the SD card files as encrypted to the PC or unencrypted?
