just a not-so quick question:

i'm a bit new to rooting, and installed Android SDK Tools and Platform Tools, along with the Google USB Driver and Java SDK. but when using SuperOneClick v2.3.3.0, i get a message saying "The following device does not have drivers installed: (Phone name) Would you like me to forcefully install an Android ADB Interface Driver for this device?" i dont want to say yes, just in case it buggers up my phone, but it wont root if i click no. i checked device manager and the drivers weren't installed, so i searched for the Google USB Driver and found that it was in Temp files along with the Android SDKs. is that supposed to happen? when i looked here:

http://www.howtogeek.com/125769/how-to-install-and-use-abd-the-android-debug-bridge-utility/

it shows these files in a different location...

So basically in short, should i click yes and allow the software to forcefully install an Androiud ADB Interface Driver for this device, or is that not such a good idea...

sorry, forgot to add, i am trying to root a htc one v.

Step 7 , are you still using the original guide?. 'Waiting for device' suggests the drivers are not working or the device isn't in fastboot mode.

don't worry. i've just downloaded the bootloader unlock bin file. working slowly through your new instructions
