Hi,

Can anyone recommend an Android tablet for the Mrs, I'm going to get her one for Christmas, it needs to have a 10" screen as its only purpose in life will be to stream iPlayer, ITV etc and install social media apps

Can this be done for around £100? Willing to spend a bit more for a decent make

Thanks

I'd imagine either the Huawei Mediapad T3 or one of the Lenovo tablets at that sort of price point!

The thing to be wary of is internal memory size - some brands wont let you install apps to any expansion card and apps are only going to get bigger and bigger so before you know it a 16GB internal memory will be full up!

Personally I've got a Huawei Mediapad M5 but it's pretty much treble your budget!

The Amazon Fire HD 10 might be suitable, they're going for about £120 right now with Amazon giving a 25% discount right now.

I'm considering one to replace an old Tab4 10" but not ordered one yet.

I forgot about these, they are Android arent they, do you need to sign up to Prime or anything to use it or can you just use it as a completely stand alone tablet and sign into Google Account?

Thanks

Being honest i'm not certain either way as i've not yet purchased it or had a play with one. But I do believe you have to link it to an Amazon account and doesn't actually link to any google account at all. Doing a little search there seems to be methods to sideload the google suite apk's onto a Fire HD.

I've just got a Huawei Mediapad M3 10 lite. £199 from various places. Used to have a Lenovo Tab 4 which was also good.
Great for watching films, Amazon prime, web browsing, light photo editing and listening to music. Finger print scanner.

Ah I'm not sure I can be bothered with side loading, just want an Android device that works out of the box and links to Google account like her phone.

I'll read into it as its the cheapest option so far but would definitely prefer a pure Android experience

Just to say +1 to those saying a Fire HD with Google Services side loaded (plenty of guides online). It's what I did and you can then just use a launcher to make it more stock Android. However for pure Android at that price, you're probably looking at something Chinese like the Teclast M89.

My wife and I are very happy with our Fire 10 tablets.

It's literally a case of toggling one setting, then download and install the apks. After that it all auto-updates as it should and the play store works like on any other device.

Oddly enough my Mrs and I have had our fire 10 for bout 3 months now and we both hate it. Very unresponsive at times, battery life is appalling etc. Clearly the unlucky ones.

Hi can someone point me to the right direction on how to sideload Google play on Amazon fire HD10. Thanks
