Android + USB OTG and DAC's

Anyone have any experience with this combo?


Managed to plug and play the Asus Essence STU with USB OTG

works perfectly with deezer and other media players.

For some reason I can't get the EPH Objective2 DAC to work even though their are reports of the JDS labs Objective2 DAC working just fine. :/

Which flavour of android? IIRC the ES9023 chip works best with 4.2 and above.

EDIT: If your powering it purely from an android device might be its not getting enough power from the port - I just tried a USB DAC based on very similar hardware and it works fine with my Xperia Z1 tablet - strangely never thought of connecting one to an android phone or tablet before - though used it with my windows tablet.

both units are powered

it's a nexus 5 on lollipop 5.0.1

the odd thing is the STU won't work with windows without a driver but worked with the nexus straight away.


Also having different problems with Lollipop and Nuplayer vs Awesome player both **** with the sound and only seem to work at high volumes it's like they hold the sound back unless its loud.
