Since installing the Nougat update on my Galaxy S7 the AndroidLost app is being shown as security threat by the o/s.

Is this just Android being picky with regards to what the app does and how it does it, or is it genuine malware? If it's the latter are there any suggestions for another free replacement?

What do you use the app for mostly? Android Device Manager is built in for all Android phones and can show you where your phone is, remote factory reset, as well as ringing it.

As for the more advanced stuff such as taking pictures with the front camera when your phone is stolen, Cerberus is recommended and has proven itself to work very well if your phone is stolen.

It's there mainly for peace of mind in case it gets stolen, so I can take photos, activate GPS, etc.

Cerberus looks good - I have heard of it from lurking in this part of the forum.
Does Nougat flag it as malware too (my phone isn't rooted)? I just want rid of the notification that I have a security threat!
