Looking for one of these to go into my soundbar due to the dodgy placement of the ports on it, plus I need a slightly longer cable anyway. Has anyone got any recommendations for a good quality one? It's only the one end that needs to be 90 degrees, I've tried a one a mate of mine had and it wouldn't carry Dolby Atmos over arc so suspect it wasn't a proper highspeed one.

Two questions: What are you getting the Dolby ATMOS signals from, and are you sure your TV is capable of passing it?

The audio channel for ARC has a little more bandwidth than you'd get with the Optical out from a TV, so whilst Optical maxes out at DD 5.1, ARC is capable of carrying DD+ ATMOS so long as it's also fairly compressed. What ARC can't do is carry the lossless audio formats DTS-MA (DTS-X) or Dolby True HD (Dolby ATMOS); there's just too much data. It may also crap out if faced with high bitrate DD+.

Compressed DD+ is found in sources such as the 4K UHD sport channel on Sky Q.

If it was just about trying any that I could find on google I wouldn't have bothered posting...

Atmos works just fine over the current HDMI cable I have but it's too short and the cable is going to end up damaged due to the way it comes out of the soundbar and bends round on the chassis of it. I looked to see if the same manufacturer (Ibra) do angled ones but they don't. I think I'm going to try one of the UGREEN ones from Amazon.

Just had a look and those look far more flexible, this is the current one I'm using and with it being braided it's very stiff - https://www.amazon.co.uk/PRO-GOLD-E...s=ibra&qid=1576158738&s=computers&sr=1-3&th=1
Yea I thnk i have had similar to those in past, not much give. May as well try plug the end of a broomstick into your soundbar :p

EDIT: These are the ones I have, braided but not at all rigid: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Syncwire-H...ncwire+hdmi&qid=1576160136&s=computers&sr=1-4
They brought out the non-braided type a while after I bought mine so will be even more flexible I'm sure.

Oh, also, no issues with the Amazon Basics cables.
