I'm heading up Anglesey Circuit (with bookatrack) for a track day on the 3rd Sept, booked it when It was sessioned (I'm a novice) but it's now gone Open Pit Lane and moved onto the GP Circuit.

Anyone got any experience of being there? It's my first real track day, and not sure how well I'll fair with the more experienced cars on track.

The GP circuit is ok, I prefer the Coastal w/ Corkscrew. It's not particulary fast after the coast straight and never really flows but you do get some nice elevation change, it's wide and fairly unchallenging with plenty of run-off and a nice view for spectators (it's always windy there, always). The only issue for a novice may be lack of signage/landmarks. Don't think that rain will spoil the day, Anglesey is all the better for it.

Regarding open pitlane vs session for a novice, that's really up to you. Organisers have guidelines and policies regarding experience on open days, so you should check what they say. If you think you will be intimidated, out of your depth or have the potential to spoil somebody elses day...don't do it and re-book for sessions. Otherwise, enjoy it.
