My parent's have just come home to inform me that 2 SCUM (keeping it clean as its a family forum) have stolen items from my 92 year old nan's house. She lives on her own since her husband died and she let them in as they were posing as people from the water company.

Whilst one distracted her downstairs in the kitchen, the other one went upstairs and ransacked the place.

She is very shaken up about it after realising what they have done, and feels humiliated and feels very exposed. I know i would, but at 92 years of age, she must be feeling especially vulnerable.

What kind of people do such a thing, it's disgusting.

The only thing we can be thankful for is that they weren't violent towards her and that she wasn't hurt.

********!!!

Christ. I'm sorry to hear that.

At least she can have family around her at this time. She must be so shaken, it's bad enough when you don't already feel so vulnerable.

How do those people sleep at night!

"Yo john, where you get the telly?"

"robbed it off a pensioner man!"

You'd maybe understand it from a primate that hadnt been exposed to civilization before, but the fact that it was planned, pre-meditated and well-rehearsed, they would obviously stab a retarded child in the face for a bag of sweets.

sorry to hear that, people like this make me sick.
Theres a gang of people doing this around my local area but unfortunately they are using very violent methods :(

The same thing nearly happened to my mum a couple of years ago, she is a bit younger and, luckily sussed out what they were up to after she was asked to turn the water tap on in the kitchen and stay there until they called her to turn it off cos they said they were from the water board. Scum of the earth the lot of em. Sorry to hear about your nan, hope she gets her confidence back soon.

The police should do more to protect these people at there age. I mean a leaflet or somit through the door with a list of do's and donts when ppl answer the door or something.

Sry to hear the prob.

Its sad because most old people will refuse to just be locked away in there own home and still want there own independence, the only way to stop these sorts of robberis is not answer the door to anybody unless its family or friends and get a family member to sort out work on the house etc.
