I thought I’d post up a thread on my more-or-less finished cube build. I didn’t have a budget in mind but expected to pay £1500-2000 or so for a full system, including monitor and all peripherals such as keyboard and mouse.
I went with the Anidees Crystal Cube Mesh as I needed a case with plenty of space but was no more than 42cm tall in order to fit under a low desk. Being a cube with two compartments, this Anidees case seems to fit all the requirements for good airflow, being short and being able to fit a decent cpu cooler. The case ships with 5x 120mm Tesseract RGB fans. Two of these draw air in through the front mesh into the main compartment. Two others do the same for the second compartment where the ssds and psu are housed. A noctua 92mm fan provides an exhaust on that side too.

I quite like a bit of rgb but nothing too much.
the final build including the price I paid for each component (a few bits are second hand, SH) is as follows:
Ryzen 7 3700X (SH) £160
MSI x570 Tomahawk £200
32gb TeamGroup DarkPro 8Pack 3600 @ CL14 £200
Anidees Crystal Cube MAR3 £170
Gigabyte M27Q 1440P 170Hz (SH) £250
nVidia 3080 FE £650
Corsair TX750M psu £90
Tecware RGB Phantom keyboard £50
XPG SX8200 1TB NVMe £110
Sabrent Rocket 1TB NVMe (SH) £80
Crucial CT500MX £free
Dark Rock 4 £60
Logitech Pro G Wireless mouse £55
2x Viper 120mm exhaust fans £free
1x CoolerMaster Silencio FP 120mm fan £free
1x Noctua 92mm exhaust fan in right compartment £free
total = £2075
it works quite well for 1440p 170hz games I use it with 3 more 1600x1200 dell monitors which are shared with various retro computers (in my sig!) so I can use YouTube and discord and the browser whilst gaming on the main screen.
I’ll probably stick with this set up until well into AM5 / DDR unless I can’t resist a 5900 with v-cache
