Animal Crossing

This is the first game in a while where I HAVE to check daily what is going on, or otherwise it will drive me mad.
The thing I like is that it is all in real time, so if you play it at 8am, the sun is rising, if you play at 8pm, it is setting.

I keep bumping into new characters, and do things to help them out and get rewarded. This weekend was a goodun though, i got lots of letters from my community with different types of fruit, so I have quickly planted then, then pick the trees, go to Nook's and shove them up his @#@# and say SHOW ME THE MONEY !!!!!!

Question, sometimes in the sea, I see a HUGE fish, but can never catch it ? As soon as it bites, i go to catch it, but never seem to get it ???
Also, what is this golden shovel people talk about....
 
I can't believe how addictive this game is, especially with no real story!!!

I play it 3 or 4 times a day during the week and I still don't have enough time to do everything. My Bells ballance is quite nice at the moment: 980,000 :D (although I haven't paid of my 120,000 mortgage yet). I used to spend a lot of time fishing but it's now mostly spend harvesting my fruit crop for which I get around 180,000 Bells (excluding the cheapo native fruit). I still haven't managed to get any turnips though, so I'll have to make sure I try to get some this Sunday.

How many different types of fruit are there?? I've got Peach (native), Pear, Cherry, Apple and Coconut.

If you bury a regular shovel overnight and dig it up the next day, you get a golden shovel.

With this you can bury a whopping amount of cash and it turns into a tree and you see some very nice profits. You can only do this once though.

I think it can dig deeper aswell to find other fossils/artifacts.

someone mentioned turning the clock back and forwards to get to important days.

You can do this but you get a psycotic duck or something appear on bootup threatening you for fiddling with the clock, after a few times i think he fines you loads of money :)
 
I once turned off the DS lite without closing down and saving the game properly. Next time I turned the game on, I had some large animal have a right go at me for turning it off suddenly, It went on for ages and made me feel guilty and small. Never again will I do that

My mate has truely raped my town of fruit but i'll come across for a little nosey and a little bit of fishing if you want?

I don't have any fruit grown at the moment so I'd prefer to nick some fruit from your towns instead, I have Coconuts, Peaches and Pears but none grown :(
