BBC News - Carmarthenshire dog rescue centre full as breeders fail to sell - BBC News

Sad to see. So many dogs taken on during covid and either people getting bored, changes of circumstances or just cost of living giving them up.

Obviously less rehoming.

And breeders trying to cash in as demand falls.

I guess this will lead to more dogs getting put down. Or worse Disposed of.

I have empathy of someone has lost their job and can't afford it through no fault of their own. But breeders and people who've changed their mind? Poor dogs.

This is really sad for the dogs :(. But wtf are breeders doing carrying on breeding if there's no demand at the moment! And leaving ex breeding dogs at the shelter rather than taking responsibility? Total shysters :(
(I know this will only be a minority, plenty of good breeders out there).

Do feel for people who've ended up just not being able to afford to keep a dog due to cost of living / lost job, that must be awful.
I guess some got caught with their pants down. Like those who bought hand sanitiser to sell late.. Missed out.

Maybe that's the case here. By time they'd produced pups... The dog craze Was over.

I doubt many could keep them. But you'd think you'd be able to sell for at least something if they are pure breed?
