Like your datasets thread your question in general isn't clear though - Do we assume you know about neural nets/deep learning and are specifically looking for applications in forecasting? Do you *have* to use Matlab as opposed to Python or R? Are you implimenting from scratch without the use of external libraries (in which case Matlab makes sense) or are able to use external libraries like Tensorflow or PyTorch - in which case Python probably makes much more sense...
