Anno 2070 help

Hello all,

Just got this game and have been playing a continuous game and now I have filled up my starting island and need to claim another island. The problem is, I have no idea how to do it... I have tried to build on the island close to me but it won't let me. Do I have to buy it or something?

load building blocks and tools on the ship and get close to the beach, the option for new warehouse should appear from your ship menu
