Anno Help

Hi OCers,

i've been trying to play anno 1404 on continuous play and im getting stuck at citizen level due to not being able to grow spice. i think i need to be able to build arab buildings (i think they're called a Bazaar or something like that) but i really have no clue on how its done

i've tried buying spices but its terribly inefficient and there are other buildings i need once upgraded

if anybody could shed some light on the situation i would greatly appreciate it

At the start of the game, buy a scroll thingy of Lord Whatshisname and take it to the Sultans port. He'll give you a ship with tools and stuff. Go to one of the oriental islands and make an oriental warehouse. Job done.

What! is it that simple? i've litteraly spent hours filling the islands with citizens and getting nowhere lol

Yeah, that's right. The other buildings are unlocked when you gain more respect with the Sultan. Trade with him, do quests for him and you can buy more scroll thingys for the Sultan to increase it, which is the best way.

You'll then unlock Indigo farms and clay pits which you'll need. Also they can only be built on the desert type islands.
