While some seem convinced Be* are about to side with the devil and the future of the internet as we know is about to disappear (ok I'm using some artistic license) I'm not so sure..

Either way for those current Be* customers, prospective Be* customer and those that have absolutely no interest but seem convinced Be* are about to be rebranded O2 we'll find out in a couple of hours..

(I'll update this thread when the announcement is made)

Dear lord, even though I can't get BE services (I wish I could) I've heard a lot of praise for them, which is in stark contrast to O2 who I normally hear nothing but complaints about.

If the contract terms change im sure you are legally entitled to cancel without notice, a pain in the butt but better than being stuck in a bad deal.

Wheres this info from griff?

Hi follow Be-ings,

As you may have seen there has been a lot of gossip about the future of Be as a brand, below you will find an statement from Dana (our MD) in connection to this. I am sure you will find it interesting:

"Hi,

Following three exciting years taking Be from start-up to it’s now established position as the UK fastest broadband provider, I have decided to pass on the Managing Director baton. I am proud to announce Felix Geyr is the new Managing Director giving the leadership Be deserves to thrive in it’s next stage of life.

Be will continue as an independent ISP and brand to further our broadband business as well as to pioneer new products and services for new and existing Be members alike. This will include new broadband technologies as well as other innovations that will create a digital life worthy of the UK. Our upcoming launch of a home monitoring product is just the first of such offers.

Following the purchase of Be by O2, O2 Broadband has successfully launched with Be providing the foundation upon which their customer centric offerings are based.

Felix joins the team from O2 where he is the Head of Business Strategy leading the company’s development in music, digital and non-telcoms activities (including keeping a close eye on Be). With Felix in the lead, Be will grow to fulfil its new vision, as the innovation brand of O2 – so please join me in welcoming him.

As for me, I am planning to take a break for a while but I am also anxious to get back to the world of start ups – the how’s and what’s still to be discovered.

As always, I thank you for your continued support of Be and making us the community of choice for those that really care about broadband in the UK.

Dana

Managing Director,
Be Un Limited"

So the good news is that yes Be is staying the way it is, the management team and I have been working towards that goal for the last 12 months and I am so happy that Be is staying.

But every silver lining has a dark cloud and the news that Dana will be leaving us soon is a tad upsetting, but do not worry you are still stuck with me Wink and I can ensure you that Felix wants to take Be to the next level (I cant say too much but the next 12 months are going to be FUN)

I am sure you will all join with me to say good bye and good luck to Dana, I do not think this will be the last we hear of Miss D Pressman Crying or Very sad

Regards,

So it's seems pretty clear that Be* isn't about to be disbanded and/or merged into O2 broadband but it's set to continue as a seperate entity :)

Woohoo:)

One of the products in the pipeline, I learned about after doing a survey email they sent me, Its a wireless CCTV/security system with online video storage which sounds pretty cool, but the projected prices were a bit steep.

If the price comes down I wouldnt mind fitting somthing like that to my car, that would be a pretty cool theft deterrant!
though I suppose it would only work near the house...

Wouldn't happen to be a product called Slipstream would it?
