Annoyed I've Installed Spyware on My New Computer

I've just downloaded Filezilla FTP program from Sourceforge and it's installed some Spyware on my shiny new Surface Pro 3.

Windows did question when I tried to install the program, saying it was from an unknown Publisher. I guess that was a warning sign. However, I had used Filezilla on my previous machine with no problems.

Anyway, I installed and now have annoying browser spyware. I would have hoped Windows Defender would have blocked the spyware install, but alas no.

So, what's the best way forward now?

get malware bytes from their website, run and clean
https://www.malwarebytes.org/ free version will do you fine.

windows defender is trash, get yourself some other free AV like Avast! (I personally use it and find it very lightweight)
