I got away from Creative because of bad driver support that caused my PC to freeze and i was happy until recently when i decided to upgrade from Vista 32-bit to 64-bit in order to fully utilize all 4GB of RAM.
There was a 32-bit beta driver for Vista and it was stable and all, released ages ago soon after Vista launched. All this time later there isn't either a final driver for 32-bit Vista and to make things better they didn't release even a beta driver for the 64-bit version of Vista.
I could understand if i either was on an OS that 0.5% of their users are running or if they were working for drivers for a newer version of Revolution.
Seems like i will have to shell some more cash again to get a side-grade that simpy has 64-bit Vista support. :o

Crazy aint it. I have Vista 64 and have recently ditched my Audigy, which has served me well for over 6 years, simply because the Vista drivers are so ridiculously terrible I couldn't stand it any more. I now use my onboard sound and it works great.

the best supported sound in vista (in my experience is the realtek onboard sound :S, on two machines i've setup ac97 and realtek hd, both working flawlessly)

I've got an old Revo card too, stuck away somewhere in it's box. Great card and would love to be able to use it again, if only there were drivers for Vista64. The cards are still advertised on their products page, so you'd think they might have some plans to provide support. I've filled out a contact form and will see what they come back with.

It took m-audio 10 months to come up with vista32 drivers for the 2496. Cant really understand why its taking so long, you would have though priority in getting them out was important from a buisiness point of view. The only good point is when they do make drivers they are very good.

I ditched my M-Audio Revo for the same reason and switched to an Asus Xonar. *** Xonar has great Vista support and is a fantastic card so I doubt I'll ever touch M-Audio again.

Was thinking of getting the same card aswell R4z0r if they don't get them out early next month. I would be happy with Beta drivers aswell since the 32-bit version works very good.
Also since you don't get new Windows OS every year and i would like to stick with M-Audio because it's a very nice card but no information about upcoming drivers and no word of an upcoming product to the take the place of the revolution, force you to get another product.

By the way R4zor i know the Xonar is an amazing card but since you are here and have the product one question would be if you are using Analogue or Digital speakers since i know the performance varies sometimes from card to card depending which connection is used. Since my current speakers are analogue i would like a card that is as amazing in analogue as it is with digital speakers.

Thanks.

M-Audio Announces New Drivers for Revolution 5.1 and 7.1
Updated drivers offer compatibility with Windows Vista 32-bit

M-Audio is pleased to announce the immediate availability of new drivers for Revolution 5.1 and Revolution 7.1 Surround Sound Cards. The updated drivers offer full compatibility with Windows XP SP2 and Vista 32-bit.

Along with several bug fixes and performance enhancements, a new sample rate select drop down box has been added for improved control.

Download the new drivers here.
They are also working on Vista 64bit drivers - I think you can access beta drivers by joining their M-Audio - Beta Test Program:- Click Here

i use analouge and the sound quality is fantastic.

BTW, I wouldn't hold your breath on the M-Audio drivers, I waited for months and nothing!

And this is one of the main reasons for me not touching Vista with a barge pole. So much of my hardware is not supported (yet), and yes I know this isn't Microsofts fault, I'm not MS bashing in this particular instance.
