annoying 5850 problem

yo guys,

i've had my 5850 since release and its had this problem from day 1 although it was briefly fixed with 10.4 drivers(now using 10.6)..... i'll start up my pc everything will be fine i'll be gaming for a few hours or just in desktop then randomly my screen will flicker then turns black for a few seconds and comes back on. it happens about 3-4 times a day and i'm getting sick of it especially when gaming...any 1 else experience this?

You sure it's the card, and not your TV / DVI cable? Jiggle it a bit, maybe it's loose.

went back to 10.4a drivers and it has not happened yet, my hdmi cable is fine. i'll update if it happens again

yup 10.4 drivers has fixed my problem. wish ati would pull there fingers out they've allways had bad drivers!

I'm on 10.3 myself, and haven't seen this problem.

its been a full day and a half now and it has not happened... so going back to 10.4a drivers has fixed my 10.6 wars

It sounds like the HDMI signal loss problem. I was getting it with a 5850. I would lose the signal completely and downloaded an application that would send a signal back from the card to the monitor to turn it back on.
