Some how, my computer just shut itself down with that 60 Second shutdown message virus thing?

Anyone know the name of it and how to remove it please?

Cheers

just a quick note its shutdown -a,

get your antispyware, your virus scanner upated and scanning but yes chances are it could be the blaster worm

Cheers mate, will give it a try.

I couldn't remember the name of it, first time I have seen it and it hasn't done it again in the last 5 minutes.

Running the tool now.

my bad! Sorry yes it is Shutown -a. I had to use it with a friends computer last year :)

If I remember correctly this worm spreads through a defect in Windows XP that was patched eons ago. Update your copy of windows once you have stopped it shutting down.

You shouldn't get this if the firewall is on. Blaster worm normally gets in when it's off. You can run an unpatched XP behind an early version of Zonealarm etc and it will be immune to 99.9% of the worms.
