Hi guys,

Recently Ive had lots of advertisements popup in new windows when using both firefox and ie. Ive tried a few ad blockers but they are rubbish and dont seem to make much difference.

I was wondering if anyone could either tell me a good ad blocked to use or a different to stop these annoying ads opening new windows!

Thanks in advance

tip number 1 - visit less porn sites!

tip number 2 - re-install the internet

might want to run some antivirus, incase it's not the browser causing them too

Adblock Plus + Taco fix most of my problems with ads, the only ones that slip through are on-click ads, like downloading something from a file hosting site.

i had a similar thing, it turned out to be a virus.

download 'Malwarebytes', its a free and got rid of mine.

weird, no other scans i ran up until then didn't find anything... ones id paid for.

edit: and yes, cut down on the porn. because be both know that's how you got it.

The only ads I see are the "on click" ones. Where the first click you do on a page will spawn a pop-under.

Wish I knew a cure for those. Everything else gets a custom adblock filter in Firefox and I see none of em. I wonder though.... is it immoral to block ads? Am I stealing content? It's a pretty weak violation if I am, but what will happen when everybody has an adblocker and no ads are ever seen?

you plan to invent an add blocker for my tv? :D

I'm meaning on the internet :P

Aside from that you can just pause whatever programme you are watching and come back 10 minutes later, then you can fastforward through the adverts. I don't see it being a problem on the telly though, because I can't see it getting to the point where nobody sees adverts. Plus we'll soon have the joys of product placement.
