OK I've had this problem ever since I bought my computer (over a year now), and its really irritating.

The case makes a buzzing sounds (as if something is catching on a fan or something) all the time. However, when I nudge the case slightly it stops. If i accidently touch the case, it moves and the buzzing starts again.

I've opened up the case and had a quick look, but tbh I'm not sure what to look out for - i cant seem to see anything catching. Anybody else had similar problems? Or know what I should keep my eyes peeled for when I open the case. The sound seems to be coming from near the front end of the case. Its really starting to annoy me lately, especially when im trying to get some work done and the stupid thing keeps buzzing at me.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like a case panel resonating. Maybe go around and tighten all the case screws and give the panels a good push. I had a case like that years ago and I fixed it by sticking a piece of blu-tac in between the panel and the chassis, which dampened out the vibrations.

My GF had a Dell (from before we were going out) and had this problem, I tighted all the screws and it stopped for a bit, blu-tac for the win!

Yeah it does sound like a sidepanel problem. My Cosmos sidepanel is currently doing as it has had a fair bit of abuse...annoying but I can put up with it until I buy a windowed one.

Only one side panel comes off. But i opened it up, had a look...and gave the side panels a good push and it seems to have worked for the time being. Im sure its not a permenant fix though.

Thanks guys.
