I have a small problem with my internet connection (BT Business BB 576Kb), which I hope someone here has an idea on how to solve it.
A few days ago my connection started to play up, I had a hard time to get onto a lot of sites (had to repeatedly refreash until the pages would load up). When they did eventually load up it took a few minutes.
- I set my dns values on the router manually -
- Changed the mtu setting to 1500.
- Flushed the dns cache
These changes seemed to have sorted the problem of slow loading sites, but I still cannot get onto these forums nor another pc forums specifically.
I rebooted the modem/router a few times to get a new ip address but I always get the same address. I know I dont have a static address, so I used the bt test username to log in and try to force a new ip address (and clear any stale sessions) but to no avail. I have tried with IE and firefox and neither succeed. When I use a proxy server I can get on here as well as if I use a mates internet connection.
So any help would appreciated
