Annoying CPU usage problem

I dont know what it is, but just lately my CPU usage goes up to 100% making everything crawl to a stop. Im using BitDefender Firewall which right now is going from 5% - 80%. Its not just my firewall tho, other programs do the same. I have ran a virusscan and PestPatrol - which found a few things. Would something else be causing it?

Run task manager ans look at running processes. It gives a pretty good indication of what is hogging your CPU.

download tuneup utilities 2006 and use the tool which cuts down the amount of things that load up on a startup.

Yea sorted thanks m8, but only by formatting and reinstalling windows. I hate doing that, just takes too long putting everything back on :rolleyes:
