Running My Karma bay on an eclipse 62 case with a Yate loon d12sh installed.
The problem is the filter that sits in front of the fan. When i use the metal clips provided they hit the fan, stopping it from spinning. So i got rid of those and the fan works.
However the filter is now being pulled into the fan, not enough to stop it spinning but just enough to make a very annoying clicking sound as the filter brushes it.
I was thinking I could get a filter that might mount inside the case behind the fan (such as the akasa 120), but thought this would block airflow, or maybe stop the screws from securing the fan to the Bay

Just wondering if anyone had similar problems/solutions.

Cheers!

What i done swordfish mate, was do away with the dust filters. Like you i have an akasa eclipse with a kama bay. ive got two 2000 rpm sharkon fans as intake and one for exhaust, coupled with 2 of the same fans on my TRUE cooler, ive found that keeping the area in front of your case dust free helps quite a bit. i hoover the room every night, but then im a cleanliness junkie. but seriously. take the filters out and keep the area in front of the case clean, and youll notice a difference.

lol yeah got some wire here was gonna try summin elaborate but really cant be bothered lol.

The Yate loons are fantastic, picked uem up for 3.99 each! Managed to break one by being stupid ooops. Seem to run at 2000rpm tho, not 2300. I find they are quieter than the Sharkoon i had in before. I ran them together and you cab def notice the sharkoon is louder at full tilt, probably cause of the dimples.

I dont find the noise of the sharkoon 2000 rpm's to bad, but then i suffer from a bit of hearing loss due to clay pigeon shooting for to long without good ear protecion, still im very impressed with the cooling ability of the fans.

They are not overly loud, but i find the pitch annoying. the yates are a higher pitch which i find matches my PSU, GFX cooler etc.
The Sharkoon has a rather low drone to it which seems to drown out my other fans.

I do think the Sharkoons are much better build quality, but they are more expensive. I might try them in a few months.

I used to use yate loon 1300 rpm fans in my case, i was very impressed with the lack of noise but found that they werent shifting air quick enough. Ive since replaced them with another 3 2000 rpm silent eagles (5 now in total in my rig) 3 are ran of the mobo headers and the 2 on my cooler are run via a fan controller, for everyday use i have them set to 1000 rpm which is a nice compromise of noise and cooling ability.

Im using the Yates that run at 2300rpm 2 of em and 1 sharkoon (got a 3rd Yate on order).

All 3 are connected to a Akasa Jr, I find that on this the Sharkoon is quieter, i dont know if its undervolting or summin, might be that fact that its the bottom front and is beind lots of plastic and metal, wereas the Yate are right at the case openings.

But when i ran the Shark on my Fanmate 2 it only ever reached 1700rpm and not 2000. The Yates definitly run at a higher speed.

I like both fans tbh. Bu in the end buying 2 Sharkoons would have cost me about £20 incl delivery were as 4 yates cost me about the same. If i hadnt had broke one it would have cost me £16.

Still im fickle and will prob end up buying 2 sharkoons when they come back in stock just to try them out!
