OK, I copied a large (~120gb) folder from another drive to my main windows drive (Running Vista x64 btw). After the copy had finished I opened the folder and apart from one tiny file it was completely empty, despite the fact that it was showing as being ~120gb in size. I enabled the 'view hidden files and folders' option and there was still nothing showing.
I then ran a scan disk on it and it found loads of errors, then booted in to windows. Low and behold the folder had gone, but I haven't gained the space back, there is still ~120gb 'missing' from the drive.
First and obvious thought was hidden check disk folders (found.xxx) with .chk files in them, but I can't find any such files/folders.
Where has my space gone, and how can I get it back?
