Does anybody else, when using nvidia drivers find that prior to POST your GPU specs are listed at the top? i dont get this with ati only with nvidia. also is there anyway to stop this, slows up my bootup time lol.

I don't get it on my shuttle and 6800gt, though i have seen it on other systems, seems to be random. Maybe its a bios option that lets it be shown?

Only cards ive ever had that happen on were my voodoo 3 and voodoo 5.

hmm will have another look in the bios but im sure i havent seen it in there, i basically live in my bios you see lol. might be depending on what mobo gpu you have or it may not

I think you can edit the card's BIOS to stop this info being shown, though I'm not sure as I've never done it before.

In my experience ATi cards POST a lot quicker than nVidia...with my 6600GT it shows the video BIOS info then the memory test takes a while, but with the ATi card the whole POST seems to be over before the nVidia card has finished showing the video BIOS info

yeah i have 2 systems nvidia and ati and the ati boots up quicker obv because of no loadup thing

i used to get it on my old 5900ultra but i wasnt there on my 6800 gt. what mobo you got and what nvidia card u got

they probobly realised they are losing customers due to slow boot times due to their stupid irrelevant information on your GPU :):)

You would edit your gpu bios, its only 1 check box to untick to not show any info, I dont see point, but I guess you want to shave 1sec off boot up time lol.

Ive never judged a pc's power on start up speed, they all have so much to run and load at startup these days, the old days of bare windows and being safe is well done.

ok so i just download nibitor 2.6a and all set?

im just bored on a sunday and just trying to see how fast i could boot up, only a 1.2 256mb ram anyway

Be aware that flashing your BIOS stands a slim chance of going wrong leaving you with a lot of hassle to get it working again.

BTW to above user, thats what my link shows, its picture hosted of what he needs to do in Nibitor, and sure you run a small risk thats why they advise you do it in pure dos and have a old pci card to hand incase it goes bad, but you can make a autobat floppy to flash it auto when blind lol.

ok nibitor does not support my card it seems its more hassle than its worth so ill leave it thanks anway guys

it happend with my ATI 9700pro, and it happens with my Geforce3. Doesnt happen with my 7800gtx, however thats because the TFT takes too long to wake up so i probably dont see it

BTW, What Nvidia card aint supported ?, have you actually grabbed the bios from your gpu using the dos method and bios flashing tool, I dont think Nibitor will actually even grab mines.

I only use Nibitor after I have a copy of my bios.rom on desktop (if its bios.bin, you need rename to bios.rom).

And true its not worth it to save 1 sec or less booting up pc.
