Hi guys, normally I am spot on with stopping malware/spyware and the rest, but the last 2 days i have had one annoying problem. On Chrome, firefox and IE i am getting advertisment websites randomly opening. I have ran a virus scan with no solution and I have ran malwarebytes which found somefiles but never stopped the problem. Then I ran CCleaner and superantispyware. No luck with all of that. I am very careful when installint any software and always make sure I install no annoying addons or toolbars. I can't find any dodgy files anywhere and in safemode ive tried running task manager once pc is booted up and found nothing showing up as running in the background. I only formatted 4 weeks ago and im on the verge of doing it again.. arghhh.
Anyone know anything else i can try please?

ADWCleaner followed by Junkware Removal Tool and finally Tiranium Cloud Scanner.

These are the tools that actually do the job right for PUPs, adware etc. Don't worry if the last one (Tiranium) is flagged by whatever AV you are using - it's a 100% legit program from a French team but for some reason the big AV vendors won't remove it from the blacklist. It's the weapon of choice by all the MalwareTips forum members, myself included, and the maker is also an active member of the board. It's a harmless file and you're welcome to research to prove it to yourself before use if you're concerned. :) Its detection of malware, adware and PUPs is second to none at present.

Out of interest what AV were you using before you got infected?

You should run Malwarebytes in safemode with networking. Update the definitions before doing a full system scan.

There's Kaspersky rescue disk. Update the definitions before you scan your system. http://support.kaspersky.co.uk/4162

You should avoid Tiranium Cloud Scanner. It's truly pathetic for many reasons.

Fancy listing them instead of posting a 1hr+ video and running?

  • Uses definitions provided by other companies
  • Proxies traffic through hidemyass proxy
  • Uses free webhosting
  • gmail contact address
  • requires .NET
  • packaged in .RAR
  • Uses pirated forum software
  • Website is misleading 'Unlimited Personal Cloud' and incomplete
  • Developer has a track record of creating shoddy AV products
  • App looks like it wad designed by a 15 year old

No wonder it has been blacklisted by several AV vendors.
