Annoying Windows 7 Network Connectivity Problem

Hey all,

I have got a really annoying problem with Windows 7. I've had it when I was using 7100 RC1 and also now when I have a genuine x64 ultimate.

Basically, whenever I'm downloading a large file (usually through newsgroups) or even if I'm looking at screenshots, I lose entire network access - local and Internet.

It's not an ISP problem, as I just need to reboot to fix it, it's just really annoying if I'm downloading a 4GB ISO for example, when I'll have to reboot a good 4 or 5 times before the download completes :(

I have formatted my HDD several times, but it never happened with XP or Vista. I've tried both network adapters on my 680i but it happens regardless. I've also even tried two different routers!

Any ideas? Has anyone else had this?

The only n/w issues I seem to get is when running Steam for some reason. Doesn't always do it but if it is going to do it it will be on first loading it for some reason. It's annoying me but not enough to get to the bottom of it yet.

If you're not using a download manager that'll let you restart the download after rebooting you could try disabling the NIC and re-enabling it, instead of rebooting, as this fixes my issues when Steam seems to kill it. If you are lucky and you can do it quick enough the download may continue.

Not a great help I know but if I find out more I'll try and post it.
