Anyone else had their annual gas summary in?

Got ours today and interested to see how it compares with others.

3 bed semi detached. 4 occupants. Gas central heating and hob.

Cost over last year, £893.81. Pre pay meter with EDF.

Not on mains gas, oil-fired heating.

Use about 1,500 litres per year. At current prices, that's about £400. At prices of two years ago, it was double that.

Oil's quite a bit cheaper than gas at the moment.

Spend about another £50-60 per year on propane gas for our oven hobs.

E: That's for a 4/5 bed semi, 2 adults, 2 under-6s.

just got it yesterday..

£1500!!

that is a 2 bed house with me and my brother, heating is hardly if ever on(deep winter 2-3 hours a day)

I guess it's the fact that we both exercise a lot so there's 3-4 showers/baths/day which is what must be eating the gas.

£1,211 for a 600 year old drafty 3000 square foot detached house. Central heating and hot water only for two of us.

Thing is like a bone idle idiot I didn't switch last year and it's been on British Gas' standard tariff. Getting the statement prompted me to look on the price comparison sites and I think I can save at least 30% on that this year.

BigT...600 years old. That sounds amazing :) (not interested in how much gas costs!)

The most interesting thing is seeing all the visual clues of its evolving history. Probably originally a Kentish Hall House before becoming timber framed workers cottages before it got clad in brick work and then just before it got listed it was extended in the 80s. During recent rennovation we discovered about six different wallpapers layered on top of each other before getting to the horse hair stuffing in the walls. It was like a history lesson in wallpaper patterns from the 40s to the modern day. Little things like that give it a lot of character.

Still back on topic, it costs a blooming fortune to heat!
