last year built a 146 opteron rig overclocked to 2.4 g with a asrock dual mb and a 7800 gt what to do next?
splash out on a 8800 gts £250
go dual core 4600 £123
1950 pro £126
sell the whole lot and go conroe
play coh the most at the moment on a 20 widescreen viewsonic
looking for the best bang for the buck!

Best value for money, 8800 GTS. You will have to spend some extra money on new pants, but it is well worth it :D

If you have the money, go conroe. I wouldn't bother with dual core AMD tbh. For not much more you could get a e4300 + DS3 and clock it way past a 4600!

conroe upgrade

Intel Core 2 DUO LGA775 E6300 1.86GHz Retail / Gigabyte 965P DS3 / 1GB GeIL PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Kit - Bundle

cost £286.66

buying seperately £277.27

leaning towards the gts as the difference would be more noticeable

I agree, I went from Opteron 146 @ 2800 to 4200 X2 @ 2750 and got less fps. Now back on the Opty for the time being.
Get the GTS and save for the conroe etc.
